Film trade analyst Komal Nahta has claimed that Bollywood diva Sridevi’s filmmaker husband Boney Kapoor has opened up to him about his final meeting with his wife, a surprise that turned into a tragedy.Sridevi, 54, passed away on February 24 in her Dubai hotel room due to accidental drowning following the loss of consciousness.Nahta in his blog said Boney wanted to surprise Sridevi who had decided to spend a couple of days in Dubai to shop for daughter Janhvi after the wedding of nephew, actor Mohit Marwah, in Ras Al-Khaimah on February 20.He said the 62-year-old producer had a meeting to attend in Lucknow on February 22, which he did.

On the same day Sridevi, spent time with her friend, chatting and relaxing in her hotel room.”On 24th morning, I spoke to her,” Nahta quoted Boney as telling him. The producer said Sridevi had told him, “Papa (that’s how Sridevi addressed Boney), I’m missing you.”Boney, however, didn’t tell her that he would be joining her in Dubai in the evening.

“Boney recounted that there had been only two occasions in the last 24 years when they had not travelled together abroad when Sridevi had travelled alone on two brief foreign trips one to New Jersey and the other to Vancouver for two appearances…,” Nahta wrote. The filmmaker took a 3:30 p.m flight to Dubai and reached the Dubai hotel around 6.20 p.m (Dubai time).

Nahta said, “Boney opened the door of Sridevi’s room with his duplicate key. ‘But she told me, she had a hunch that I would come to Dubai to fetch her,’ Boney recalled. The couple hugged, kissed and chatted for almost half an hour.”According to Nahta, Boney suggested, the two go for a romantic dinner and requested Sridevi to postpone the shopping to the following day.The actor, 54, then decided to go for a bath and get ready for the dinner.

“I went to the living room while Sridevi went to the master bathroom to bathe and get ready,” Nahta quoted Boney as telling him. The trade analyst said Boney watched TV for around 15-20 minutes but started getting restless “because he was aware that being a Saturday, there would be a rush in the restaurants. It was around 8 p.m. then.”

“He made shout out to Sridevi from the living room but when he did not get any response he knocked at the bathroom door and even called out to her”.”The unsuspecting husband, hearing the tap inside on, then called out ‘Jaan, Jaan’ still louder but got no reply, which was unusual. He panicked and opened the door which had not been bolted from inside, nervous but yet not at all prepared for what he was going to see.

The tub was full of water and Sridevi was immersed completely, from head to toe, inside the tub. Devastated, he reached out to her but watching her motionless, he feared the worst,” Nahta added.”… The mystery will remain unsolved. But that was not of much relevance to her near and dear ones. What mattered the most was this: Sridevi, the vivacious, beautiful and talented heartthrob of millions, had become late Sridevi,” he concluded. IANS

National award winning actress Sonam Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming film ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’, has said she doesn’t believe in labels, which are associated with the actors in the film industry.

Sonam Kapoor was interacting with the media at the promotional press conference of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ along with his co-actors Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Juhi Chawla, director Shelly Chopra Dhar and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra in Mumbai on Monday.

Sonam Kapoor is essaying an LGBTQ character in the forthcoming movie.

Same-sex relationships continue to be a taboo in India, despite the Supreme Court scrapping Section 377 that criminalised “unnatural intercourse”. And when it comes to lesbians, there is a further lack of acknowledgement or understanding.

However, ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ seems to be talking on a pertinent issue – marriages of middle class, queer and Indian women. The trailer of the film has received a positive response from the audience.

When asked whether she had second thoughts while playing a bold character in the film or not, Sonam said, “I don’t know about bold character but there is one thing that I don’t believe in and that’s ‘labels’. When I decide to do a film or a character, I get encouraged by the fact that nobody else would say yes to it except for me.”

Sharing a moment from their wedding day, Sonam, who now goes by 'SonamKAhuja' on Instagram, wrote: "Our family is our strength."

When asked Sonam Kapoor whether she thinks that she is pushing the envelope for Indian actresses by playing these kind of characters, she said, “I don’t think I am immodest enough to say something like that. I am humble enough to understand that I am certain kind of person and actor. I can’t do what other people do so, I can only do what I can do. I don’t think I am talented enough to do what other people do, So, I am very happy in my space. I am just trying my very best to do what I can do.”

Anil Kapoor is collaborating with his actress daughter Sonam Kapoor in ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ for the first time.

When asked about his first reaction when he heard script of the film, which revolved around a bold subject, Kapoor said, “When I hear a script, I don’t go into the knowledge of everything. If I love the story and the character and if I am in that character then, the rest follows.”

“I am not a political person. I am very liberal person. I believe in aLive and Let Live’ policy and that’s my way of thinking and that’s the way I am. I believe in a democratic society otherwise, when I listen to a story that time, I am an actor. If I love the story and I love my role then, I just do it. After that, whatever happens, it’s entirely up to the audience,” he added.
