Kabul:At least five Pakistani Islamic State (IS) militants were arrested in Afghanistan, the media reported on Monday.
A statement issued by the Afghan intelligence agency, National Directorate of Security (NDS), said the militants hail from Pakistan and was involved in terrorist related activities in Nangarhar province, state-run Khaama Press reported.
The militants were identified as Abdul Rashid and Miras from Peshawar and Mohammad Ayaz, Rahmuddin and Azizullah from The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
They added that the militants were associated with Mawlawi Salim and Mullah Gul Zaman who are active IS cadres in Jalalabad city.
The explosion took place near the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is under construction near the Giza pyramids. A statement issued by the antiquities ministry said the explosion caused no damage to the museum.
In December, three Vietnamese tourists and one Egyptian guide were killed when a bomb hit their bus near the Giza pyramids. (VOA)
