Thane: At least 11 people were killed and another seven injured when a 50 year old residential building crashed here in Maharashtra on Tuesday, officials said.
The four-storey building, Krishna Nivas, crashed around 2.30 a.m. when the residents were asleep.
Thane Collector Ashwini Joshi and Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde rushed to the site to supervise relief operations.
The fire brigade, the National Disaster Response Force, and other agencies are engaged in clearing the debris and rescuing the trapped and injured.
