Google hosts forum for Indian languages at JLF

Jaipur: At Jaipur Literature Festival, Indian language received an encouragement when Google decided to host a "Love your language''. The motive of the forum is to provide better representations to the Indian languages on the internet.

Google presented a statement in which the company said that they are aiming to provide better representation on the internet for some language. As it currently can translate 9 out 22 official Indian languages, it added that some of those 9 are less used on the internet.

Google has asked anyone who is passionate about the language to contribute to Google translate so that the company can boost the translation of Indian languages and increase the use on the internet.

Through the forum, Google will also try to inform people about the Google Translate.

Jaipur Literature Festival which started on Thursday and will continue till 25th is arguably the biggest literature festival of the country. It is important for the Indian language that there is a discussion about it.

English has always overshadowed the Indian language and it is now time that they get better representation. If this pattern has to be changed then there is a need from the government to encourage the vernacular languages and such festivals can be a big help in this.

A large number of youths go to JLF every year. It is one of those events that are extremely popular with youths and it was good to see that there was a push for Indian languages there.
