Govinda Considers Ranveer Singh As a Good Actor

Govinda, who has worked with Ranveer Singh in ‘Kill Dill’, has said the latter is a really good actor.

Govinda said this on Friday while interacting with the media on his 56th birthday celebration party here.

In his interviews, Ranveer has often said he is the biggest fan of Govinda, and was inspired by him to act in movies.

At Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas wedding reception on Thursday, Govinda had a fun time with Ranveer Singh, and the latter posted a ‘happy photo’ along with Govinda on social media.

Talking about his bond with Ranveer, Govinda said: “He is a really good actor and I feel he works really hard. May God bless him.”

Thanking his fans on his birthday, Govinda said: “I am thankful to my audience, parents and the media who have supported me over the years. I hope that they will keep loving and supporting me in this journey.”

Talking about his journey in films, Govinda said: “I don’t think much about how my past films have performed at the box-office. I just want to keep working in this industry. Now, my film ‘Rangeela Raja’ is releasing on January 11.”

‘Rangeela Raja’, a comedy film, is written and produced by Pahlaj Nihalani, and directed by Sikander Bharti.

The film stars Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra and Mishika Chourasia and Anupama Agnihotri in the lead roles. (IANS)

With the success of his two projects “Padmaavat” and “Simmba”, Ranveer Singh has delivered Rs 500 crore nett box office in India within a single year. The actor says he wants to stay away from letting this get to his head, and that he is focussed towards becoming the “best entertainer”.

On his success, Ranveer Singh said in a statement to IANS: “I’m uncomfortable in these scenarios, in these discussions, people discuss money and I start scratching my head. I feel I should protect myself now more than ever before from these sorts of things. I find myself receding because I don’t know where this will take me, whether it will colour my thinking because I have been a certain way.

“So far it has worked for me, and I hope to continue as the same kind of artiste and very committed to protecting that integrity that I have towards my art, craft, and I don’t want to start with making choices that I have to do with anything other than honesty, that will be the death of me.”

But Ranveer said: “I also want to stay away this getting into my head. I want to protect the sanctity of my craft and my love for cinema. I have followed a certain ethos that has brought me to this position and I don’t want to change that and don’t want to get into making choices thinking when we do that film, it seems like a Rs 300 cr prospect.

“It is not about the numbers for me, it is basically to entertain people, to entertain as many as i can and as much as possible. I keep that purpose of life, i’m an entertainer and I want to be the best entertainer. It’s a single point agenda for me and a personal ambition,” he added.
