Infra push: 4 airports to come under Public Private Partnership

By Newsgram Staff Writer

New Delhi: Giving a push to infrastructure, Modi government has given a green signal to the development of four airports under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma informed the Parliament that the government has initiated the process of transferring the operation, management and development of Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Jaipur airports to Public Private Partnership (PPP). A Request for Qualification for the same was issued last year in December by the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

The Civil Aviation Ministry has framed a draft of Civil Aviation Policy to improve efficiency and transparency and asked AAI to ensure protection of the interests of the employees at these airports by developing proper mechanism.
