A "Young MP" from India who got embarrassed by Trump at Mar-a-lago

According to various media sources, India’s recent efforts to raise international awareness about the alleged threat of "Operation Sindoor" took an unexpected turn during a diplomatic delegation visit to the United States. The group, led by senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, included a young BJP Member of Parliament whose actions created a minor political stir—highlighting how personal ambition can sometimes clash with diplomatic decorum.

The controversy began when the BJP MP learned that fellow delegation member Milind Deora had already scheduled a warm and cordial meeting with Donald Trump Jr. Upset by this, the young MP attempted to arrange a similar meeting but failed to secure an appointment. In what appeared to be an attempt to one-up Deora, he declared to the delegation that he would now meet Donald Trump himself.

Assisted by an old acquaintance living in the U.S.—a man described by many as mysterious and enigmatic—the MP made his way to Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s luxurious Florida estate. Spread across over 62,000 square feet and home to 126 rooms, Mar-a-Lago is not only Trump’s personal residence but also an elite private club that has hosted global dignitaries, including former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The MP was introduced to Trump at Mar-a-Lago as someone “very close to the Indian head of state.” However, Trump reportedly did not extend the courtesy or warmth expected. Known for his brash and unfiltered style, Trump allegedly made remarks that were blunt and offensive, leaving the MP visibly humiliated. The encounter, which the MP never spoke about publicly, ended on an embarrassing note.

Unfortunately for him, the story didn’t stay quiet for long. Word of the incident reached Raisina Hill, India’s seat of political power in New Delhi. Sources say the BJP high command summoned the MP and reprimanded him sternly in front of three senior leaders. Many are speculating that the unnamed young MP involved in the Trump incident is Tejasvi Surya, given his known participation in the Shashi Tharoor-led delegation to the U.S. on Operation Sindoor. The embarrassing episode at Mar-a-Lago, where the MP was allegedly snubbed by Donald Trump, has been widely discussed on social media, with several posts pointing toward Surya. However, no official confirmation has been made.

The X handle of Congress Kerala Unit shared an unknown newspaper clip in which it is alleged that a young MP has been embarrassed by Trump at Mar-a-Lago with a caption “Is that you @Tejasvi_Surya [official handle of BJP MP Tejasvi Surya]?”
