Indian American investor joins Barack Obama administration as IMF director

Sunil Sabharwal, an independent Indian American investor in the payments sector, has been nominated as the US Alternate Executive Director at International Monetary Fund by the US President Barack Obama.

Sabharwal, who will be incumbent for two years, was the chairman of the Board of Ogone, a European ecommerce payment services company, from 2011 to 2013.

Obama administration has the highest number of Indian Americans in key jobs than any previous administration in the US.
