A Chinese man was able to buy two flats in Beijing by feigning disability and begging, South China Morning post reported.

According to the paper, A 47-year-old man was detained for feigning disability and begging in the subway. The man said HK$25,000 a month by dressing in rags.

The shabbily dressed man would sit on a ground in the subway and would drag himself on the hands to ask fro alms. The money which he was able to collect by begging helped him buy two flats in Beijing.

He said he used to earn only 2,000 yuan a month as a migrant worker, the SCMP reported.
