Reducing Nepal earthquake disaster to a mere mockery, BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj has attributed the calamity to Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to the holy shrine of Kedarnath.

The MP who is known for speaking without logic or cognition said that the earthquake was a result of beef eating Rahul Gandhi's 'impure' visit to the temple.

"Rahul Gandhi eats beef, and goes to the holy shrine (Kedarnath) without purifying himself. The earthquake was bound to happen," Maharaj told TOI
Reacting to the comment, Congress has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah to take action against Sakshi Maharaj.

'In a most unfortunate and petty manner, certain habitual motor mouth offenders of the BJP — cohorts of the Prime Minister and BJP President Amit Shah — are trying to communalize and politicize a grave human tragedy. We demand that the PM and Amit Shah take immediate action against Sakshi Maharaj.' Congress party spokesperson Sushmita Dev told reporters.

The earthquake of magnitude 7.9 which hit Nepal on Sunday has left more than 4000 dead.
