A 40-year- old Delhi based businessman Harjinder Singh and his family were detained by the Heathrow airport authorities, after being accused of purchasing the tickets by using a stolen credit card.

As reported by TOI, Singh explained that he had paid Rs 2.4 lakh in cash to the travel agent, and had no idea how the agent had purchased the tickets.

He contacted his travel agent who apologized for the "confusion" and promised to reimburse the money once the family returned to India.

The airport authorities confiscated the passports of the family and asked Harjinder to purchase the four tickets all over again.

As per the report, Singh's family was detained at the airport for almost seven hours and to put an end to their misery, Harjinder agreed to purchase the fresh tickets.

Reportedly the travel agent refused to reimburse the money on Singh's return to Delhi.

An FIR has been filed against the agent and police have also registered a fraud case against him. Further investigations are underway, as reported by TOI.
