The Delhi government has alleged that Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) chief M.K Meena violated the court's order by removing an officer of the body. Justice V.P. Vaish issued a show cause notice to Meena and SHO Brij Mohan.

The high court had earlier declined the plea of the Aam Aadmi Party government to restrain Joint Commissioner of Police Meena from working as the ACB chief.

The Delhi government's plea said Meena issued an order shunting out inspector Vinay Malik as station house officer of ACB, and posted Brij Mohan in his place.

The show cause notice was issued to new SHO Mohan on the allegations of Delhi government for not lodging FIR on complaints received by the ACB between June 8 and 17.

The court sought response from Meena and Mohan on the next date of hearing on August 25.

The government said it was constrained to file the contempt petition as Meena had wilfully violated the court's June 29 order, which had asked the governor appointed ACB chief to act in "accordance with the law".

Seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against Meena as well as Mohan, the plea said the latter was acting under "direct instruction and orders of Meena".

On a separate plea, the Delhi government has sought orders from the ACB to register an FIR on the complaint by the sub-divisional magistrate.

The government also alleged that documents had "gone missing' from ACB files.

On that plea, the court issued summons to Meena and asked him to appear before it on August 4 to give an answer to the issue of "missing documents".
