11 Indians detained and 2 deported from UAE on charges of planning to join Islamic State

Abu Dhabi/Dubai: UAE has detained 11 Indian nationals since early August and deported another two people back to India on charges of planning to join the Islamic State. They have also been charged for recruiting, financing, and providing logistics to those who wanted to join the Islamic State.
UAE security services came across two groups of people who were involved in online discussions and sharing on social media regarding issues related to IS. They were also allegedly trying of establish contact with IS leaders through internet. Eight Indian nationals were detained from the group based in Abu Dhabi and another 5 Indian nationals were detained from the group based in Dubai. A Pakistani and a Bangladeshi national have been detained as well, according to a report in Times of India.
Among the 13 Indians detained, two persons who hailed from Kerala have been deported back to India. They had done their education in UAE and were living there from many years.
