Gurgaon: The Car Free Day (CFD) initiative launched to decongest the roads here has led to around 25 percent reduction in the number of cars on the four corridors in the Millennium City and a 16-20 percent reduction in pollution, a senior police officer said on Friday.

CFD, launched on September 22 and observed every Tuesday, has made the city hassle-free and kept the skies blue, Gurgaon joint commissioner of police (traffic) Bharti Arora said.

Meanwhile, Gurgaon Police plans to hold a cycle rally on October 12 from HUDA City Centre to the Golf Course Road as part of the fourth edition of the CFD on October 13.

A senior police officer said that the rally led by Bharti Arora would involve 300-400 local residents, students and corporates of Gurgaon.
