President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurates Military Station in Murshidabad district in West Bengal

Baharampur, Oct 8, 2016: President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday inaugurated a new military station in Murshidabad district in West Bengal.

"President of India inaugurated newly developed military station at Nabagram, WB," the Eastern Command tweeted.

It is being built as a model military station over an area of 252 acres. The President had laid the foundation stone of the project in 2014.

Mukherjee, who is on a five-day visit to West Bengal also attended a felicitation programme in neighbouring Birbhum district headquarters Suri.

At Suri, he also formally rechristened a road after his freedom fighter father Kamada Kinkar Mukherjee. (IANS)
