Free DTC rides for women on Raksha Bandhan

New Delhi: The Delhi government on Thursday said it has decided to provide free rides to women on state-run buses on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 29.


“The facility of free travel for women will be available on Raksha Bandhan day in all the buses of Delhi Transport Corporation and cluster buses across the state,” Transport Minister Gopal Rai said. “The decision has been taken to provide safe, comfortable and convenient ride to women,” he added. “The facility will be applicable in all categories including cluster buses (except AC buses) between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m on Raksha Bandhan day.”
