Saudi King tells Government authorities to allow Women to apply for Government services without approval of their Guardians

Riyadh, May 4, 2017: Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud told government authorities on Thursday to allow women to apply for services without the approval of their guardians, local media reported.

The current procedures to get various government services include providing written approval by the women’s guardians to process their applications.

Public organisations were requested to list services that women could apply to evaluate if they could be included in the order in accordance with Islamic regulations within the next three months, Sabq online news reported.

The order also demanded organisations to provide appropriate transportation services for their female employees.

Saudi Arabia does not allow women to drive and this has been a hinder for many of them to get jobs or lead independent lifestyles. (IANS)

They flagged off the marathon at MMRDA, BKC in Mumbai.

Overwhelmed to see so many women participating in running event, Tahira took to Instagram and wrote: “So many hearts, 11000 to be precise! All beating screaming of our existence, of the joy we are, of the happiness we bring to this planet.

“This gender needs to exist in greater numbers, in parity to the other one. Make us live. Make it happen.”

Pinkathon was set up in India by model-actor and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman in 2012 to create awareness about breast cancer and women’s health.
