Telangana Ragging: Another student ends life after being ragged, allegedly

After the emergence of a ragging video on social media, a similar case of harassment emerged in the southern state of Telangana.

A second-year student of a minority college in the Nirmal district of Telangana ended his life after being harassed, allegedly.

Mohammad Farhan Nawaz's (17) body was found hanging. The police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. It is alleged that the victim mentioned three names in his suicide note.

The suicide note also mentioned that Farhan would get bullied by his classmates for being a top ranker in class.

Recently, a student was brutally beaten up by 10 students at a reputed management university in Hyderabad and made to chant communal slogans against his wishes.

A group of students barged into the victim's hostel room and physically assaulted him on November 1. The victim alleged that they abused and thrashed him and even sexually assaulted him. One of the accused allegedly told others to beat him till he dies.

In the video, the accused can be seen pinning the victim to the bed. One of them attempted to assault him after asking others to hold his hands. The accused can also be seen taking the wallet out of the victim's pocket and seizing it.

The video of the student being thrashed went viral on social media and created an uproar amongst the general populace. (KB)
