Calling Arunachal a 'huge dispute' and an 'undeniable fact' spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Secretary, Hu Chunying has given the eternal border itch of the two nations a scratch again.
Talking to the media, the remark is seen as a reaction to India's extension of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Arunachal Pradesh.
Although supporting Narendra Modi's view that peace at the border has to be maintained to arrive at any mutually acceptable agreement, Hu's remarks show the weight given to the border issue by China.
'We have taken note of remarks made by Prime Minister Modi. China has always taken a positive attitude on the China-India boundary question.' she said.
China claims Arunachal Pradesh to be a part of Southern Tibet. Although the Communist nation says that the dispute is limited to just 2,000 Kms of Arunachal, India feels that the dispute is much larger in scope, 4,000 Kms after adding Aksai Chin region along with other western border areas.
