Bhubaneswar : The Odisha State Poultry Products Co-operative Marketing Federation Ltd. (Opolfed), an apex poultry co-operative marketing organisation, on Monday began online sale of poultry products including eggs and chicken.

Launching a shopping website of Opolfed www.chickenfresh.in, Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister, Pradeep Maharathy said here that it would provide the people a flexible buying experience.

He said initially Opolfed products would be delivered in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area only. Later, based on the response, the society would extend the delivery facility to other cities in the state.

The minister also launched a Facebook business page of Opolfed – www.facebook.com/opolfed, saying it would help people to connect with Opolfed.

According to Bishnupada Sethi, secretary in the fisheries and animal husbandry department, the online shopping platform will provide the residents of Bhubaneswar who cannot visit Opolfed outlet in the city to place orders online and get delivery at home.

He said Opolfed would charge Rs.50 for delivery and the order should be for a minimum amount of Rs. 500.
