Pakistan fires at Indian positions along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu: The Pakistan Army fired at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Rajouri districts, an official said on Wednesday.

"The Pakistan Army used 120 mm. mortars and automatics to target our positions in Poonch sector of the LoC yesterday (Tuesday)," defense ministry spokesman Col. Manish Mehta told IANS.

Pakistan shelling started at 9 p.m. on Tuesday and continued till 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

"In Balakote sector of the LoC in Rajouri district, the Pakistan Army used 60 mm. mortars and automatics to target our positions," he said.

Shelling in this sector started at 9.15 p.m. on Tuesday and was on till 1.30 a.m. on Wednesday.

At both the positions, Indian troops retaliated effectively using same calibre weapons. No casualty or damage has been so far reported from the Indian side, he added.
