Four JDU legislators join BJP: Bihar

Patna, Four Janata Dal-United (JD-U) legislators on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party here.

The legislators, suspended from the party for six years, joined the BJP in the presence of union minister Rajeev Pratap Rudy and state party president Mangal Pandey.

"Four rebel JDU legislators Gayanendra Singh Gayanu, Rajeshwar Raj, Dinesh Kushwaha and Suresh Chanchal have joined the BJP," party leader Sanjay Mayunkh said.

Gayanendra Singh was considered close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar before he revolted against him last year. The JDU had suspended them for involvement in "anti-party activities".

According to BJP leaders here, some more JDU legislators are expected to join the BJP ahead of the assembly polls scheduled for later this year
