Mamata announces Rs.1 crore reward for I-League champs Mohun Bagan

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday announced a reward of Rs.1 crore for city football giants Mohun Bagan, who clinched the I-League 2014-15 title this year. Making the announcement at Mohun Bagan's 125th year celebrations here, Banerjee said the money would be used towards installing floodlights at the club's ground.

Besides the cash reward, she also announced Rs.50 lakh each for Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting and Rs.10 lakh each for eight other premier division clubs hailing from the state. A host of past and present sportspersons including former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly were present on the occasion.
