Modi In Faridabad: Badarpur-Faridabad metro line starts today

On 6th September, Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a ride in Delhi Metro to inaugurate a new metro line connecting Badarpur and Faridabad in Haryana. He took a ride between Janpath and Bata Chowk stations.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Union Minister for Rural Development Birender Singh, Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu received Modi at the Bata Chowk Metro station. The prime minister spoke to the passengers and allowed some of them to take selfies with him.
After inaugurating the metro corridor, he addressed the public meeting.

The Rs.2,900 crore project, an extension of the violet line between the ITO and Badarpur Metro stations, will cover nine stations – Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar.

About 1.95 lakh passengers are expected to use the new metro line.

The new metro line will be open for public from 4 p.m. on Sunday. The 13.87 km Delhi (Badarpur)-Faridabad (Escorts Mujesar) Metro corridor is equipped with solar power generation facilities in all stations and depots.
