New Delhi: The Delhi high court on Tuesday suspended the non-bailable warrant against M.K. Meena, the chief of Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) till September 23.

The warrant was issued on September 11 by the inquiry commission set up by the Delhi government to probe the CNG fitness scam after M.K. Meena failed to appear before the Special Investigation Team. The inquiry commission had also ordered that 30 percent of Meena's salary be attached every month.

The commission had directed M.K. Meena on September 3, to appear before it regarding his directions to his subordinates not to share information pertaining to the CNG scam.

A division bench of Chief Justice G. Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath was hearing, on Tuesday, a plea of the central government for quashing the inquiry commission's order and also challenging the constitutionality and the establishment of the commission.

The Arvind Kejriwal government on August 11 had appointed the inquiry commission. The probe by the commission once again pitied the city government against the union government. The union government had called the commission as being "legally invalid."
