Jammu: The field commanders of India's BSF and their Pakistani counterpart Pakistan Rangers will hold a flag meeting on Tuesday on the international border in Jammu to defuse tension in the region.

Border Security Force (BSF) sources told IANS here that the flag meeting will take place between the deputy inspector general of BSF and the wing commander of Pakistan Rangers.

One civilian was killed and over a dozen others injured on the Indian side because of indiscriminate shelling by Pakistan Rangers during the last seven days, officials said.

Pakistan too has claimed that five civilians were killed on their side because of cross border shelling during this period.

More than 3,000 villagers have already migrated to safer places in Jammu region's Samba district.
