New Delhi: The national capital will witness the country's acknowledged poets sharing their works in Hindi this Saturday at the 45th edition of the 'Shri Ram Kavi Sammelan'.

The event would be held at Shankar Lal Auditorium, Modern School.

The Sammelan, which started in 1965, is being organized by the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, and will host award winning poets like Ashok Chakradhar, Gopal Das Neeraj, Uday Pratap Singh and Lakshmi Shankar Bajpayee.

"Shri Ram Kavi Sammelan has had an extremely significant role in keeping the old tradition of poetry in India alive. The main focus of this Sammelan is on serious Hindi poetry and why it is regarded as bridge between popular and sophisticated poetry," its anchor, Ashok Chakradhar, said.

The platform, in the past, has hosted eminent Hindi poets like Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Shiv Mangal Suman, Ram Dhari Singh Dinkar, Gopal Prasad Vyas and Vishnu Prabhakar, among others.
