It said Kerala will dispatch 10,000 kilograms of bleaching powder and an equal number of gloves on Monday.

Kerala has already sent state Health Secretary E. Elangovan to Chennai and the Norka office (the state government agency that looks after the welfare of the Kerala diaspora) in Chennai has opened a help line and by now, around 3,000 calls have been addressed.

The state-owned Road Transport Corporation is operating daily bus services by bringing back all Keralites free of cost and also all the buses traveling towards Chennai are laden with chappatis for being distributed to the needy in Chennai.
