New Delhi: The British cult rock band Coldplay yesterday dropped the worldwide music video release for "Hymn for the Weekend" in collaboration with Beyoncé. The video was shot in Mumbai with Beyoncé featuring as a Bollywood star. Moreover, the singer dons a creation by ace Indian designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

The video also features Indian actress Sonam Kapoor in a short yet noticeable appearance, running across the screen.

Abu Jani told reporters: "We are beyond thrilled, pinching ourselves and wondering, is it real? Thirty years into the business and we're behaving like a star struck kids, gobsmacked by Beyoncé and pumped up with excitement. A truly wonderful moment for both of us and Team Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla."

The video showcases India's vast culture with the band playing Holi in the streets and myriad colours covering their bodies, fire breathers and temples in the backdrop with Sadhus of the city performing aartis. The video ends with Beyonce doing a 'namaste' and 'Coldplay' written in Hindi on the screen.

Here's a picture of movie hall in Mumbai fictionally screening the Beyoncé-starrer Bollywood movie:

Sonam Kapoor showed her excitement of being a part of the video and tweeted in this regard:

Martin had visited India last year and even performed a surprise gig in the capital.

Coldplay's fans in India are thrilled about the video. And so are fans abroad, who witness India's graceful culture in the bounty. The full video can be watched here:
