Grand 3-Day Long Jagruti Yatra to Mark 350th Birth Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh

Mumbai, November 5, 2016: A grand three-day long Jagruti Yatra to mark the 350th Prakash Purab, or birth anniversary celebrations of the 10th Sikh guru Guru Gobind Singh, will be held in Mumbai and other parts of the state from Sunday, a top official said here on Saturday.

The Jagruti Yatra started on October 13 from his birthplace, Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singhji Sri Patna Sahib, Bihar, to Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra, and after traversing through Aurangabad, Ahmednagar and Pune, arrived in Navi Mumbai on Saturday.

On Sunday morning, it will traverse through important Sikh community pockets and finally wend its way to Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Dadar, said Gurudwara Board Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib, Nanded President Sardar Tara Singh.

After prayers by devotees, it will leave on Monday morning from Gurudwara Sahib, Khar suburb and then to Gurudwara Dhan Pathohar Nagar and proceed to Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Darbar in Andheri and onto Gurudwara Sahib in Tagore Nagar.

On November 8, Tuesday, it will proceed to Shahpur in Thane, completing its Mumbai leg, said Sardar Tara Singh, who is also Chairman of Maharashtra Minority Welfare Committee. (IANS)
