Delhi College of Art honours eminent Artists with Bhabesh Chandra Sanyal Award

New Delhi, Jan 17, 2017: In memory of the doyen of modernism in Indian Art, Bhabesh Chandra Sanyal, the Delhi College of Art honoured eminent artists with the 'BC Sanyal Award' here.

"The BC Sanyal Award is a small way in which we can give encouragement to the artists who have been contributing so much to the field of arts. We have been giving it since many years now. It is a small step in which we can help them achieve their goals," Ashwani Kumar Prithviwasi, Director, Delhi College of Arts said at the event on Monday evening.

The event saw artists like Gogi Saroj Pal, Bindu Popli, Anupam Sud, Kavita Nayar, Arpana Caur, Santosh Jain, Sneha Bhasin, Ravindra Verma, Seema Kohli, Vasundhra Tewari Broota and many more attending the award function, said a statement on Tuesday.

"Receiving the award has been a motivation and I am honoured because I have been a huge fan of his work and have followed him religiously. Awards are an encouragement and sometimes you need some kind of a push for that constant go," said artist Sneha Bhasin on receiving the award. (IANS)
