Here is how Temple Car Festival is celebrated at Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirapalli

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 7, 2017: The temple car at Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple was pulled by a large number of devotees on the occasion of 'Thai thaer' festival on Wednesday.

This is one of the important annuals festivals that is celebrated at the temple when Namperumal is taken out in procession. The idol of Namperumal was brought from Kannadi arai and reached the 'Thai thaer' mandapam at 4 a.m on Thursday.

Devotees pulled the temple car at about 6 a.m after special pooja and related rituals, raising holy slogans in the glory of Sri Ranganathar. They participants pulled the car through the four Uthira streets and brought to rest about a couple of hours later.
