U.S. China Trade Talks Happening This Week

China’s top trade official, He Lifeng, will meet with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in Switzerland this week. This decision comes at a time when economic data has shown that ongoing trade brinkmanship has had a negative impact on both countries’ economies.

U.S. China Trade Talks: China’s top trade official, He Lifeng, will meet with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in Switzerland this week. This decision comes at a time when economic data has shown that ongoing trade brinkmanship has had a negative impact on both countries’ economies. 

The negotiating teams are expected to discuss reductions to tariffs, export controls and the decision to end exceptions on low-value imports.
