NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court today issued notice to LK Advani and 19 other leaders in connection with Babri Masjid demolition case.

A petition filled by one Mehboob Ahmed wanted conspiracy charges to be included against the BJP leaders for the 1992 demolition that led to communal clashes across the country.

Along with Advani, others senior BJP leaders like MM Joshi, Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh have been asked to respond within four weeks.

The court has also issued notice to the CBI, which has asked for more time to come up with its affidavit against an Allahabad High Court order that had dropped conspiracy charges.
