Blast kills 17 in a protest rally against Jabar Naeemi in Afghanistan

A bomb blast in Khost province of Afghanistan on Thursday killed 17 people and injured 50.

"Preliminary reports said that 17 people have lost their lives in the blast and some 50 others have been injured," Xinhua news agency quoted provincial police chief Faizullah Ghairat.

A Parliamentarian was also injured in the attack.

'A member of parliament, Hamayun Hamayoon, is also among those injured in the deadly attack' Ghairat said.

A furious mob was carrying out a rally against provincial Governor Jabar Naeemi demanding his removal, when the unfortunate incident took place.
