Union Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday announced that Indian Railways will soon set up a station in Arunachal Pradesh near the India-China border.

"A draft of the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) is ready and will be signed soon," said the Defense Minister. He also added that he has spoken about the project to railway minister Suresh Prabhu.

The minister added, "The 'gravity' of the border issue between China and India has come down as far as Arunachal Pradesh is concerned."

According to a report by State run China Daily, lately China has been planning to build a subway under Mount Everest named Qomolangma in Tibetan to extend its rail connection to Nepal which has sent alarm bells ringing in India.

This will be a very first time when a subway will be made to reach Nepal.
