India has agreed to Pakistan's offer of providing a special aircraft to facilitate the return of 11 Indian citizens that had reached Karachi from war-ravaged Yemen on Tuesday.

The stranded Indians were rescued out of Al Mukallah on Saturday by Pakistan Navy's Aslat along with 171 Pakistanis. They will now be flown to New Delhi on Wednesday by the special plane.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin announced the decision to accept the offer. "India accepts Pakistan's offer to fly back from Karachi by special plane 11 Indians evacuated by Pakistani naval ship from Yemen," he said.

Indian Deputy Commissioner J.P Singh said that the Indian High Commission had arranged for a commercial flight for bringing back the citizens but when Pakistan proffered a special aircraft for sending them, the Indian government gleefully accepted the offer.

The decision to assist the arrival of Indian citizens from Pakistan comes close on the heels of evacuation of Pakistani nationals from the Yemeni port of Al Hodeidah along with citizens of several other countries by the Indian authorities last week.
