Singapore jails Indian artiste for false rape claim

An Indian origin artiste who has performed in Aashiyana Club of Singapore was caught by police and jailed for three weeks for falsely accusing her employer of rape.

Citti Babu Prasanya, 21 conceded that she had lodged a false complaint on August 11 last year. In her complaint she mentioned that Haji Mohamed Shaik Allauddin raped her on August 10, The Straits Time reported.

The court noted that Prasanya had worked for Allauddin's club, Aashiyana since July 4 last year when she made false rape allegation against him.

Hazi Mohamed was arrested on the basis of complaint lodged by Prasanya. Later, the allegation she made against Allauddin was found to be false.
