A publishing firm owned by social activist Teesta Setalvad, has landed into probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation for alleged violation of Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA).

Sabrang Communication and Publishing Private Limited(SCPPL) allegedly accepted a donation of $290,000 and $131,000 from Ford Foundation without getting prior approval from the union home ministry and in violation of FCRA.

Officials say that a case is likely to be slapped by the agency against Setalvad in this regard in the next few days.

Previously, several cases have been filed by Setalvad, through her non-governmental organisation, against Gujarat government officials including former chief minister Narendra Modi for alleged involvement in the 2002 Gujarat riots.
