Commotion erupted as soon as the proceedings started on the third day of the monsoon session that was set to continue till July 31.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislators came to the assembly in blue apron which read: "Shivraj Singh Chouhan must quit."

BSP and Congress legislators started sloganeering as the proceedings began. They also moved towards the speaker shouting slogans, triggering heated exchanges between the treasury and opposition benches.

Speaker Sita Sharan Sharma adjourned the house for 10 minutes. But as the opposition remained aggressive when the assembly reassembled, he adjourned it again at 11.30 a.m. — and finally indefinitely.
