NIA gets 14-day custody of Udhampur terror attack accused

Jammu: A special National Investigation Agency (NIA) designate court has granted 14 days remand of Udhampur attack accused Naveed alias Usman alias Qasim Khan to the NIA.

"Yashpal Kotwal, judge of the NIA designate court in Jammu yesterday (Monday) granted 14 days remand of Naveed to the NIA team investigating the August 5 Udhampur terror attack", a senior police officer told IANS here.

The officer added that the accused was brought here on Monday from the Kashmir valley by the team headed by senior superintendent of police Atul Kumar Goel, chief investigator of the case.

The NIA is now likely to take over a dozen of people identified by Naveed into custody for interrogation.
