Amman: Political solution is the only way to address the crisis in Syria, Jordan's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour has said, the media reported on Wednesday.

Ensour made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Tamam Salam, where he said after four years of the crisis in Syria, the entire world says the only solution to the crisis in Syria is a political one, Xinhua news agency reported.

He said Jordan does not interfere in the affairs of neighboring Arab states.

"We have no spies or agents in Syria. We have no aspirations to expand or annex any territory of Syria," the prime minister said, adding that Jordan is keen on the interest of Syria.

Ensour said Jordan which has long border with Syria does not support any armed groups in Syria, adding that Jordan is facing major negative consequences due to the continued influx of Syrian refugees and pressure on several sectors in the country.

For his part, the Lebanese prime minister voiced hope for restoration of stability in Syria, adding that Jordan and Lebanon faced common challenges amidst the crisis.

He voiced hope that regional and international players will stop worsening the situation in Syria. "The international community should exert more efforts to find a political solution to the situation in Syria," he said.
