Over 100 killed in Egypt heatwave

Cairo: Over 100 people were killed due to a massive heatwave in Egypt, the health ministry said on Thursday.

The toll reached 110 as two more deaths were reported on Wednesday from Suhag and Aswan areas, Al Ahram reported.

The health ministry has been issuing warnings to citizens in the past few weeks advising older people and children to avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
