New Delhi: R.K. Singh, the former union home secretary has revealed that in 2005 the Indian Intelligence agencies had to drop the plan to assassinate Dawood Ibrahim, after interference from Mumbai cops.

While speaking to a news channel, Singh said that during NDA government, a plan was prepared by A.K. Doval, then head of Intelligence Bureau to use gang members of Chhota Rajan, the rival of Dawood, to take him out, when he was to travel to Dubai for his daughter's wedding.

But, the plan had to be abruptly aborted, as Mumbai cops came to Delhi and arrested Vicky Malhotra and Fareed Tanasha, both of whom belong to Chhota Rajan gang. They had come to Delhi to chalk out details of the operation.

The timing of the arrest is very suspicious as Mumbai cops had suddenly appeared in Delhi asking assistance of Delhi police to arrest those two. The incident further reinforces the suspicion that many of the Mumbai cops are hands in gloves with the underworld don.
