Janmashtami greetings from Hamid Ansari

New Delhi: Vice President Hamid Ansari on Friday greeted the people on Janmashtami.

"I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami," he said..

He further said: "Janmashtami is celebrated across the country with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm, and it marks the birth of Lord Krishna and reminds us of his life and teachings."

"Lord Krishna's eternal message of spiritual wisdom, the Bhagvad Gita has been a source of inspiration for the entire mankind."

"May this auspicious day bring peace, amity, harmony and prosperity in our lives," he said.

Janmashtami is a Hindu festival, which is to be celebrated on September 5 this year.
