Man threatens Bengal minister, gets arrested

Kolkata: A 30-year-old man was on Sunday arrested from West Bengal's Malda district following a complaint by state minister Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury about getting threatening calls, police said.

"We arrested Subhankar Das from Malda town in connection with the threat messages to the minister," said a police officer.

Choudhury, the minister for food processing and horticulture, filed a complaint at the English Bazaar police station saying he was getting repeated threats.

"From text messages to telephone calls to letters and posters, various means are being used to threaten me with dire consequences," said Choudhury.
