HCL releases first grant to ‘Going to School’ NGO

New Delhi: 'Going to School' (GTS) NGO was finally announced the first HCL grant by the HCL Foundation. The amount granted to this NGO is Rs. 5 crores ($740,000).

On Monday, President Pranab Mukherjee congratulated and felicitated the NGO, which was being shortlisted from 6 finalists.

The NGO will receive the first instalment of the grant immediately on the announcement. Subsequent instalments will be milestone-based.

GTS was established in 2003 as a charitable trust with an aim to create interactive stories of role model that would inspire children to stay in school.

HCL one of the biggest computer and technology company in India is providing the help to the NGO. In India, still thousands of Children cannot go to school. Even in the twenty-first century, many do not have access to the basic education due to many reasons with financial being the main reason.(IANS)(image-youtube)
