Modi commemorates Mahatma Gandhi, posts tweets

New Delhi: Today marks the day when Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, died. The day saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying tribute to the preeminent leader in the form of multiple tweets.

"Salutations to beloved Bapu on his Punya Tithi," he said in a tweet.

The prime minister also remembered the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation and urged people to pay respect to them.
