Indian national detained in China, embassy to submit reports

New Delhi: The government has sought a report from the Indian embassy in Beijingregarding an India national who was detained in the Chinese city of Shenzhen.

"I have asked for a report from our embassy in China," External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted on Friday.

She was responding to a tweet which said that an Indian businessman, working in Shenzhen with a resident permit and a business licence was taken by police on Tuesday.

"Wife has been released after questioning but my friend is detained with a notice of 30 days," the tweet said.

The tweet also said that the businessman's wife was alone and the Chinese authorities did not let her to contact him. (IANS)
