Newly-Wed Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped by Husband and his Friends at Gun-point, in Jharkhand

December 17, 2016: In a village in Jharkhand, a newly married woman was allegedly raped by her husband and his two friends on Wednesday night.

Police said that Afzal Ansari, the woman's husband, and his friends raped her at gun point at Rahaiya village in the Palamau district.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Hiralal Ravi said that Mr Ansari recently got married to the woman of the same village

The woman in her complaint claimed that Mr Ansari came back home on Wednesday night along with his two friends – Bablu Singh and Afzal Mian.

According to PTI, "He then raped his wife and allowed his friends to commit the crime in turn."

Police further said that the accused recorded the act and threatened the woman.

However, the victim in the very next morning managed to escape and informed her parents and they took her to the police station.

Mr Ravi said, however, the Officer-in-Charge sent them back without even registering a case.

The DSP said that he directed to register a case against the accused, who is still on the run.
